At Kate's recent performance at the National Museum of Australia I was able to spend some time backstage before the show and photograph some of the preparations. It was a real privilege and lovely to chat to Kate, Keir and Jess prior to the show.
"Kate Miller-Heidke": By The Water
One of my favourite performers to photograph is Kate Miller-Heidke. She is just an amazingly talented performer (along with her husband Keir Nuttall). She is also incredibly giving and lovely. I have photographed her on many occasions over the past 8 or so years, from small gigs through to festivals and even at the Sydney Opera House. Tonight she was performing by Lake Burley Griffin next to the National Museum Of Australia to a wonderful audience of people that weren't even phased by the rain during the set.
Behind-the-Scenes photos will be coming soon!

Kate Miller-Heidke - Sydney Opera House
Tonight I had the pleasure to photograph the lovely Kate Miller-Heidke at the Sydney Opera House. It was a brilliant concert held in the Opera House Studio, a nice intimate venue with no barrier to separate the audience from the musicians. This tour is a chance for Kate to show off some new songs from her upcoming album; Nightflight, which is set for release on the the 13th of April.
I always enjoy photographing Kate and her band, including husband Kier Nuttall. She is a fantastic performer and is a joy to watch on stage. Can't wait for the next concert.
I need to give a big thanks to both Kate and Emma for everything.
"Celebrate In The Park - 2009"
Jessica Mauboy
Today I went to "Celebrate In The Park", a free concert event organised to celebrate Canberra's 96th birthday.
Headlining the concert were the "Hoodoo Gurus", "Kate Miller-Heidke" and "Jessica Mauboy".
My primary reason to goto this event was the opportunity to shoot Kate again. She is a fantastic artist and definately one of my favourite singers. She has an amazing voice, great lyrics and is very theatrical with how she performs and dresses. I wasn't dissapointed. She performed brilliantly, the Canberra croud really getting into it.
The day was great fun, with a great turnout and pretty awesome weather. The bands were brilliant and I managed to get some great photos.
It's nice to be able to add the "Hoodoo Guru's" to my list of bands I have photographed. They are a classic Aussie band that still sound great.

Corinbank Festival: 29/2 - 2/3 2008
The crowd enjoys an impromptu acoustic set from Darren Hanlon. The crew was still busy setting up for future bands so Darren decided to do is set on the grass. A truly memorable thing to see.
The extremely talented and attractive; Kate Miller-Heidke. One of the highlights from the weekend.
