"Leonie" - Photoshoot
Powderfinger Call It A Day.
Tonight was a historical night for the Canberra music scene. It was to be the final time, Aussie rock legends Powderfinger, would play in the nations capital. Canberra was one of their stops on their last ever "Sunsets" tour. After more than 20 years of performing, the boys are finally calling it a day and going out with a bang.
I have been a fan of the finger since the early 90's, seeing them perform many times here, and also getting to photograph them at The Big Day Out earlier this year. I was lucky enough to get to document this final gig in Canberra whilst watching on in awe of a band I have listened to for over a decade.
The band were in great form, the song choice fantastic and the crowd in a really great mood - all combining to create one of the best gigs I have ever been to.
Farewell lads! - You have given us some amazing music and will be missed. Just don't spoil it by doing a "Farnham".
More Photos to come.
"Angeline" - Photoshoot
This morning I got to photograph the lovely Angeline again. She is a joy to shoot and a lot of fun. This time we went for a ballerina & dance style shoot. I have to give a huge thanks to her as she spent a lot of the morning "on pointe", after a long time of not doing it. I thought she did amazingly well.
"Lexi" - Marilyn Monroe
Today I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Lexi.
She recently starred in a dinner theatre production about Marilyn Monroe and I knew I had to photograph her as the iconic star.
It is really amazing how similar Lexi looks to the blonde bombshell from the 50's and 60's.
We spent a few hours driving around town getting some fantastic photos .
Thanks must also go to her sister for being a great help on the day.
"Florence And The Machine" @ The Enmore Theatre
Tonight I made the drive up to Sydney to shoot a band I have liked for a while now, Florence And The Machine.I first heard about Florence when I was over in the UK in the middle of 2009 and thought her voice and music style was great.
So when my mate at Reverb Magazine asked if I wanted to shoot any bands, I instantly put my hand up for Florence when I heard they were coming out to Australia.
It was a great gig and such a treat to photograph in such an iconic Sydney music venue. But unfortunately I could only stay for the first 3 songs and then had to return back to Canberra.
"Josie B" - Photoshoot
Tonight I had another photoshoot with one of my favorite models and friend of mine, Josie B. Due to our busy schedules at the moment we were only free after work so we chose to shoot at night. You might call us crazy as it's in the middle of winter, but we had a great time and got some really lovely shots. Which is not hard when you are photographing somebody as photogenic as Josie.
"Nicki" - Photoshoot
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Nicki. I had met her through the ModelMayhem website that I am a member of. We decided that even with the low temps at the moment we would try and do a swimwear photoshoot. Her boyfriend Chris took us to a fantastic spot near Macquarie Pass near the NSW coast. We managed to get some fantastic photos near the waterfall and surrounding areas. We then headed to the coast new Shellharbour and took some great shots on the beach.
This was my first Beach shoot and I think it went rather well. Thanks Nicki for your amazing resilience to the cold weather.

"Josie B" - Photoshoot
This morning I had a photoshoot with Josie. We decided to try our hand at the "Trash the Dress" concept that is becoming rather popular amongst wedding photographers.
This was her first photoshoot to my amazement, as she was a joy to photograph. She was a great sport too, willing to get muddy and submerge herself in a rather large lake.
It was a really fun photoshoot, a style of which I have never done before but will definitely do again.
A really massive thanks to the lovely Josie who I hope to work with again.
