Photography has always been one of my main creative outlets.
I have a Monday-Friday job which I enjoy and colleagues that I love working with. That has meant I never really pursued being a photographer as my primary source of income.
Don’t get me wrong it’s always lovely to be paid for something you consider yourself rather good at. But for me, I never really wanted it to become “my job”.
Having people tell me how much they loved having their photos taken, how much fun it was, or the confidence boost it gives them is wonderful.
Reading a positive comment means far more to me than money, likes and shares.
Not doing this as a job has meant that I haven’t really promoted myself as much as I probably should, nor have I been actively searching for work.
As a result, the last two years with COVID has been extremely quiet with portrait shoots.
For 2023 I wanted to set myself a goal.
I want to do at least two portrait shoots per month. (One done for Jan so far. Yay).
I am friends with photographers that shoot hundreds of clients a year and knock out “my goal” multiple times a day. But that’s not me.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a boudoir, maternity or just a crazy themed portrait shoot.
I just want to be more creative and active with my portrait photography this year.
If you would like to have your photo taken this year, please send me a message. I would love to work something out.
This is not my job, I just love making photos that both the person photographed, myself and lastly the public love.
